"How wonderful that no one need wait a single moment to improve the world."
-Anne Frank

True joy arises when we extend ourselves in service to others, and to the world around us. When we give our time, compassion, or talents for the benefit of others, we tap into a deeper sense of connection and purpose that material successs alone cannot provide. Acts of service remind us that we are part of something larger than ourselves - an intricate web of life where every gesture of kindness ripples outward. In lifting others, we elevate our own spirits; in healing the world, we find our own hearts renewed. Service transforms joy from a fleeting feeling into a lasting state of gratitude and fulfillment.

Alaqua Animal Refuge is a one-of-a-kind, no-kill facility founded in 2007, located on 100-acres in Freeport, FL, about 20 minutes north of the Emerald Coast’s sugary white beaches. Alaqua has come a long way in all aspects of operation, initially providing shelter to only a handful of dogs, cats and other animals and requiring only a few staff members working to find these animals permanent, loving homes. The shelter has since grown and expanded into a refuge that provides respite for over 500 animals at a time. Since its founding year, Alaqua has helped find homes for tens of thousands of animals, with over 100 adoptions completed per month.

OneBlood operates numerous blood donor centers and "Big Red Bus" mobile blood drives primarily in Florida,  Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Only about 3% of age-eligible people in the United States donate blood annually, despite roughly 62% to 65% of the population being eligible to do so, resulting in constant and often urgent shortages. It only takes about an hour to donate, and OneBlood usually gives you a gift card and a t-shirt as a thank you.

Emerald Coast Theatre Company is a non-profit theater company based in Miramar Beach, Florida. Founded in 2012. Their mission is to enrich and entertain the Emerald Coast through professional and educational theatre - inspiring, educating and empowering the community, and artists of all ages, to achieve the highest level of cultural excellence through collaboration, productions and educational programs that promote lifelong learning and provide excellent, professional entertainment in the Emerald Coast Community. You can volunteer as a ticket taker or behind the bar (which is what I typically do) and the perk is that you get to see the show for free. It's so much fun.
